Tax and Revenue Management: A government’s lifeblood

IT has provided the opportunities for governments to remodel the entire process of tax collection over the last decade. It is, however, a continuously evolving process and governments the world over need to constantly upgrade their tax systems to optimise their revenue workflows.

Unlocking Public Value

A recent SAP study confirmed that those organisations which adopt best practices in the areas of scope and adoption, process standardisation, technology and customer governance, do perform better, and do so as their best practice maturity increases.

Accenture has appointed Juan Domenech [pictured] as Group Chief Executive of the company’s Public Service operating group, effective 1st September. In his new role Domenech joins Accenture’s executive leadership team and succeeds Lisa Mascolo, who has been appointed US Country Managing Director.

Domenech, 52, has spent the past 18 years in Accenture’s Public Service operating group, which serves public-service organisations in the defence, education, public health, human services, border management and public safety, revenue and postal sectors globally. He currently serves as the group’s chief operating officer, a position he has held since 2004.

In his 25-year career with Accenture, Domenech has also held a variety of other leadership positions, including managing director of the Public Service operating group in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America and Canada, and head of the Change Management practice in South Europe. He has also served clients in the financial services and utilities industries.

“I am delighted to have Juan join our executive leadership team and run our Public Service operating group,” said William Green, Accenture’s Chairman & CEO. “With nearly two decades of experience in the Public Service operating group, he knows the business inside and out and brings a strong blend of client leadership and operational experience to his new role. I am confident that he will continue his significant contribution to Accenture’s success.”

Based in Barcelona, Domenech joined Accenture in 1983 and became a partner in 1992. He holds a degree in industrial engineering from the Catalonia Polytechnic University in Barcelona and a master of business administration degree from the IESE Business School.
