The government of Brunei has announced plans to leverage ICT to improve service delivery to citizens.
As part of the country’s e-government effort, the Temburong district office and 22 village consultative councils launched a web site and blogs to promote the district.
Hj Mohd Abduh Dato Seri Setia Hj Abdul Salam, Acting Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Religious Affairs emphasised the need to keep up with advances in ICT and changes in citizen’s expectations, so that the online services rolled out by the district office will “be valued” by the people.
“ICT will be used to disseminate information to the public more quickly and to help government officers and staff perform duties more efficiently,” he said.
Continuous monitoring and control on the use of ICT is essential, he added - as the leading agency in the Temburong district, the district office is committed to lead by example in its e-government efforts.
