Blue Coat Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: BCSI), the technology leader in Application Delivery Networking, today announced that Director of Product Marketing, Asia-Pacific, Blue Coat Systems, Jonathan Andresen, will present “Security Today’s Public Sector Networks with Cloud Security and Layered defence Architecture” at the 6th Government Information Forum 2009. The conference will convene August 19-21, 2009, at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Hong Kong.
“The transition from Web 1.0 to Web 2.0 has been driven by dynamic content, where malware leads to security threats in public sector networks. To ensure a proactive defense against Web-based malware that exploits the Internet, governments need to rethink how they secure their Web gateway,” said Jonathan Andresen, Director of Product Marketing, Asia-Pacific, Blue Coat Systems. “With real-time input, cloud-based content analysis and immediate protection, our WebPulse service provides businesses with a URL filtering solution for a Web 2.0 world.”
The Blue Coat WebPulse service is the first cloud-based community watch environment to implement Dynamic Link Analysis that combines URL filtering and anti-malware techniques to protect users against Web-based threats. The Blue Coat WebPulse community watch service builds a comprehensive profile of Web content with real-time inputs from both businesses and consumers to protect users from new and evolving malware and malicious content. The service today receives more than one billion requests per week from more than 54 million users of BlueCoat® WebFilter and ProxyClient® enterprise products as well as users of K9® Web Protection, around the world.
The emergence of malware and data leakage underscores the requirement for proactive layers of defense. Dynamic Link Analysis leverages a broad and diverse user community to profile more Web content and apply more defenses than a single user could maintain. Real-time inputs from this community into the WebPulse service, as well as cloud-based analysis and updates, immediately protect users from malware, phishing and malicious content without the burden of database downloads.
