Part of the project valued at Rs 542.9 crore (US$112.6 million) aims to provide tele-medicine services to the people of Lesotho from Indian medical specialists.

Lesotho becomes the 36th country in Africa to have signed an e-governance agreement with India. India’s Telecommunications Consultants India Ltd (TCIL) has been designated as the implementing agency for the project.

TCIL will be responsible for designing the network, and procuring and installing the equipment. They will also provide operations and management services for five years after commissioning the network.
