Bahrain residents will soon be able to pay their electricity and water bills using their mobile phones, the latest of a series of eGovernment initiatives on the island state.
By the beginning of September, customers will be able to use their handsets to settle utilities accounts. Currently, residents are only able to use their mobiles to check the amount they owe.
The service will be launched before the end of August, according to Mohamed Ali Al Qaed, CEO of Bahrain’s eGovernment Authority (eGA).
