Yong elaborates that the group has been successful in attracting talented practitioners throughout the region, and is committed to ‘setting the standard in talent management in talent management and competency development’.
The web-based PeopleSoft human capital management solution will cover functions including workforce administration, performance management, as well as global payroll and absence administration. The system will be interfaced with Parkway’s finance, material management and time management systems ‘to create a seamless flow of information to facilitate effective administration and timely generation of reports that are needed by the Businesses,’ Yong told FutureGov.
Yong expects that the system will increase productivity and efficiency as employees will be empowered to manage their own profiles online. “This helps reduce administrative workflow and possibly costs,” she explains.
While having plans to improve HR management throughout its operations in the region, Yong emphasises the current focus is to make sure the system runs smoothly in Singapore after it goes live, which is planned to be by mid-2010.
“We are focusing now on training our HR employees to understand the development & functionality, and ironing out data conversion to ensure that there are no user or system implementation difficulties when it goes live,” Yong explained to FutureGov.
