The agency’s—centre for IT excellence (CenITex)—move is part of the Efficient Technology Services programme aimed at moving the state to a central whole-of-Victorian-government management system.

CenITex is set up as a State Body by the Victorian Government to centralise ICT support to government departments and agencies.

ITGRC package will assist CenITex in managing the governance, risk and compliance obligations of its customer base for the infrastructure services within their service offerings.

The IT governance capability will help manage the regulation of industry and government security standards, CenITex policy and security controls as well as policy exemptions and security metrics.

On the other hand, the IT risk management capability will help manage threats and risks to projects and ongoing core business activities. It also helps store system security plans and security risk management plans.

The IT compliance capability will help manage security policy compliance and support security control testing.

CenITex is looking to offer the solution as a whole-of-government service to up to 15 other state agencies and departments.

CenITex currently provides products and services to departments of Business and Innovation, Health, Human Services, Justice, Planning and Community Development, Premier and Cabinet, among others.
