Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) has decided to make digital maps of original plans of each town, village, sector and sub-sector of the state to keep a tab on encroachments, giving property owners exact details about their property area and location.
The district police. administration officials, Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) and market associations will have access to these maps. The maps will also be uploaded on HUDA’s website and kept in compact discs. This move is seen to reduce administrative tasks at HUDA’s office.
By distributing the digital maps, apart from police and district administration officials, RWAs can also identify the areas where encroachment is rampant and take remedial actions, explained Rajinder Kataria, HUDA Administrator.
“Apart from checking encroachments, daily routine issues like width of road, area of park, area of parking area, width of back lane, for which residents visit HUDA office daily, will be easily accessible on the digital maps,” said Kataria.
