The Vietnam government portal— www.vietnam.gov.vn— has been helping the government to disseminate government instruction and boost national socio-economic development, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan said.
Nhan said the Vietnam Government Web Portal’s (VGP) constant renewal in content and design helps strengthen the communication between the government and people.
He likewise emphasized the need for VGP to ensure network security and database safety as well as maintaining a smooth information source.
Unidentified hackers last month has penetrated the security system of the Drug Administration of Vietnam’s website, www.dav.gov.vn, and deleted some data but was successfully retrieved a few days later.
“VGP must be a leading unit in e-government and a link between the Government and other web portals of ministries, branches and localities,” he said.
The content posted on the portal must clearly manifest the Party, State and Government’s political and diplomatic stance, he added.
Nhan said he hopes VGP will continue bringing into play the agency providing the government’s instruction and management information, have more new initiatives to attract subscribers and pay attention to training reporters and technical staff.
The Deputy Prime Minister made his remark at a working visit to the VGP in Hanoi on Tuesday, during Vietnam’s Revolutionary Press Day.
