The Cavite provincial government in the Philippines is planning to equip all its more than 90 thousand residents with significant knowledge in IT.
The local government in collaboration with non-formal studies under the Department of Education have already produced 24,000 graduates of their free computer literacy courses in Cavite Computer Centres (CCC) since the 2010.
The programme offers several basic courses like computer application multimedia web designing, photo editing and graphics design, database management system, video editing and computer repair and networking.
Governor Jonvic Remulla said the program is part of his administration’s effective implementation of development plans in the areas of education, employment and welfare enhancement.
“The Cavite Computer Centres cater to all sectors in the province such as out-of-school youths, senior citizens, government employees, members of non-government organizations and private or self-employed individuals and even professionals who want to improve their computer proficiency,” Remulla added.
Camille Lauren Del Rosario, head of CCC/IT Division explained the CCC/ITD vision is to be in the forefront of providing excellent computer training services to its residents.
Del Rosario adds the CCC will aid the underprivileged residents by providing computer literacy, provide free advanced practical training in computer to increase productivity and enhance computer skills and to create highly competitive and well-trained residents in the field of IT.
