The Gia Lai Province’s Health Department and Ho Chi Minh City’s Information and Communications Department collaborates on a pilot project which will aid patients suffering from serious conditions who are unable to seek treatment in city hospitals.
The internet-based health service was developed after the Gia Lai province’s health department reports showed cases of several critical patients suffering during transport to larger hospitals.
Leading doctors from Ho Chi Minh City-based hospitals including Paediatric Hospital, Tu Du Obstetric Hospital, and the Trauma and Orthopaedic Hospital will conduct examinations and consultations, and instruct local doctors on proper treatment through a large screen connected to the internet.
Deputy Director Bach Anh Hung of Gia Lai Hospital, one of four hospitals nationwide taking part in the pilot project, said in an official statement, “The internet treatment service will create new opportunities for critical patients in the province.”
