The Government of Gujarat will soon deploy “ICU on wheels” equipped with advanced healthcare technology to offer hi-tech medical services whenever, wherever needed.
According to Gujarat Health Minister, Jaynarayan Vyas, “The demand for advance health services is higher but number of centres is very less. Which is why, Gujarat Government is going to put in place 20 ICU on wheels in near future to make advanced healthcare services accessible in remote areas of the state.”
The initiative is part of the continuous efforts of the state government to bring quality improvement to public sector healthcare institutes.
“The government aims to make the services affordable and accessible in all areas, technology is a must,” Health and Family Welfare Principal Secretary, PK Taneja, said in an official statement, explaining the current technology application initiatives in healthcare.
Apart from the said project, the government is also considering a project on telemedicine in near future for providing healthcare services in rural areas.
