The Malaysian Treasury, effective next year, will implement online applications for housing loans through the recently launched Integrated Housing Loan System.
Treasury Housing Loan Division secretary, Datuk Shuib Md Yusop, said in an official statement, “The division receives almost 3,000 loan applications every month, including about 300 from Sabah. The system was developed to provide for an efficient and comprehensive housing loan management system.”
“Through this system, the Housing Loan Division will be able to give conditional approval immediately when the applications are complete and sent online.”
Launched by the Sabah Local Government and Housing Ministry, the state-level system would make it easier for applicants to check the status of their applications, repayment, progress payment and annual statement.
The Housing Loan Division has had been given three months to officially migrate to the online system in order to start the improvement of the delivery system.
