Datuk Seri Dr Ali Hasma has been appointed as the new chief secretary to the government of Malaysia, replacing Tan Sri Mohd Sidek Hassan, who retired on Sunday after 38 years of government service.
Before becoming the top civil servant, Dr Ali was the director general of the Public-Private Partnership Unit in the Prime Minister’s Department.
Ali promises to continue improving delivery system and initiatives introduced by his predecessor, including the Blue Ocean Strategy and the Special Taskforce to Facilitate Business.
On his first day in office, Ali urged civil servants to improve their productivity to ensure that the goals and objectives set by the government are achieved.
