The Philippines publishes election materials online

The Presidential Communications Development and Strategic Planning Office (PCDSPO), the Philippines will publish a series of 2013 election materials online this week to showcase the heritage of the Philippine electoral process.

The PCDSPO—as custodian of the Institutional memory of the Philippine Presidency, will feature infographics and briefers telling the political relationship between Congress and the presidency, as well as the importance of midterm elections for every administration.

“We hope that this online initiative to present the forthcoming electoral exercise in the context of previous polls will be helpful to our partners in media, the academe, and the Filipino public as a whole. In its entirety, PCDSPO presents study of Philippine democracy at work, through its ultimate manifestation — the ballot,” Presidential Spokesperson Edwin Lacierda said.

The initiative is to mark the official campaign period for the 2013 national and local elections in May. The info materials have been prepared since last week, and is scheduled to live on the PCDSPO website this week.
