The primary purpose of the website is to fight corruption, as well as the officials who use public procurement system for personal enrichment.
To report an incident, citizens are asked to provide certain personal information and contact details as anonymous information are not processed. Received information about corrupt practices will be under the control and leadership of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic.
First Deputy Prime Minister Omurbek Babanov said that the government, the Prosecutor-General's office, and police will check every case reported on the anticorr.gov.kg site. If a report proves true, the appropriate measures will be taken.
Anticorr.gov.kg. also features anti-corruption statements from top government officials, government office helplines, anti-corruption laws and mandates, and corruption report statistics.
Kyrgyzstan ranked near the bottom in the 2010 Corruption Perceptions Index published in October by the campaign group Transparency International. The creation of this website, along with the ongoing work of the State in this direction, is expected to give concrete results and will contribute to detecting corruption, reducing their number, cleansing the society of this scourge.
