Through the app, users can view travel information such as road conditions across the state, roadwork, load restrictions and wind speeds. Advanced options allow users to save favourites, view road cameras, search for information by keyword and select common routes.
The app is available for Android and iOS phones, and can be downloaded from the DOT website.
DOT also launched GovDelivery, a new email or text message service which enables citizens to subscribe to different topics such as road conditions, job openings, public events and more. The service will send notifications to subscribers through email or text message when their selected information is updated. 3000 subscribers have already signed up to receive email notifications.
“Offering these services is another way we can keep the public informed,” said Grant Levi, DOT Interim Director. “With so many people using smartphones and accessing information in a quick and efficient manner, these programmes will streamline communication, and more importantly, enhance communication with our residents, business owners, visitors and other stakeholders.”
