Dr Leong Mun Kew
Chief Technology Officer & Director of Digital & Knowledge Infrastructure

Leong Mun Kew is responsible for ensuring the alignment of IT to business strategy, and for looking at future technology directions. Prior to joining the NLB, Mun Kew was Principal Scientist and Programme Director for Services Research at the A*STAR Institute for Infocomm Research. His personal research was in information retrieval, mobile and social information management, educational technologies, digital libraries and distributed multilingual search systems.

Dr Lee Hing Yan
Programme Director, National Grid Office
Infocomm Development Authority Of Singapore (IDA), Singapore

Dr. Hing-Yan Lee is Program Director of National Grid Office at the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore, where he directs, plans and coordinates the national initiative to realize a cyber-infrastructure for sharing and aggregating compute resources for R&D, business and industry. He is concurrently seeding Cloud Computing efforts, including Singapore's participation as a centre of excellence as part of the Open Cirrus Cloud Computing Testbed. Prior to this role, Hing Yan was Deputy Director of National Grid Office at the Agency of Science, Technology And Research as well as Principal Scientist at the Institute for Infocomm Research.

Ong Guan Sin

Mr Ong Guan Sin has gone through 15 years of evolution in IT and is now Associate Director, Innovation Development, Computer Centre, National University of Singapore. His portfolio is concerned with developing innovation into IT, harnessing IT for strategic advantages to the University. He started off his career as an Internet systems engineer and has since gained IT leadership experience in technology start-ups, system operations and IT business development. He enjoys the luxury of being an experienced IT customer and vendor. He believes strongly that enterprise IT has turned from innovation provider to become something that needs innovation itself."

Jirka Danek

Jirka Danek was appointed Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for the IT Services Branch (ITSB) of the Department of Public Works and Government Services Canada in June 2008. As CTO, he is responsible for providing technical vision and innovation in identifying and evaluating new technologies that could be used within government. Jirka strategically selects and applies new technology to further develop an IT evolution plan for common shared services. In Jirka's previous role as Director General (DG), Product Management, ITSB, he was responsible for developing and delivering an IT Shared Services product management portfolio for the Government of Canada's IT infrastructure strategy.

Stephen Miles

Prior to joining CA Technologies, he was Sales VP for the Infrastructure Management Group at EMC, where he specialised in service assurance solutions for service providers and enterprises.

Beaumont has been at Verizon Business since 2002 working in International Data Centers and IT Services group, managing third-party providers and as the general manager of managed hosting in the UK.

Richard Sheng
Regional Director, Business Development & Product Marketing, Asia Pacific

As the regional director of enterprise product marketing and business development, Richard Sheng is responsible for the marketing, go-to-market strategy and business development of Trend Micro’s strategic solutions in Asia Pacific. Prior to this role, Sheng was the director of server business group at Microsoft Taiwan. Sheng joined Trend Micro in 1997, held product management and marketing roles, and was pivotal to the introduction of Trend Micro’s Worry-Free Security solution into the SMB marketplace. He returned to Trend Micro in May of 2010. Sheng holds bachelor’s degrees in computer science and business economics from University of California, Santa Cruz.

Dr Jy-Soo Lee
Director of Supercomputing Department
Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information, KOREA

Dr. Jysoo Lee received BS degree from Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea, in 1985, MS degree from University of Pittsburgh in 1986, and Ph. D. degree from Boston University in 1992, all on physics. He was visiting scholar at HLRZ, KFA at Juelich (which became John von Neumann Institute for Computing), and was research associate at the Levich Institute of the City College of New York. He joined KISTI (Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information) in 2001, and had been the Director of the Supercomputing Center for 2004-2006, and resumed the position since 2009.

Dr Terence Hung

Agency for Science Technology & Research (A*Star), Singapore

Dr. Terence Hung is a Programme Manager at the Institute of High Performance Computing (Singapore). He manages a group of researchers and provides management and technical leadership in areas such as HPC, grid/cloud computing, data mining, digital modeling and visualization. Throughout his career, Terence holds various academic and professional appointments. He is an adjunct associate professor position with the School of Computer Engineering at the Nanyang Technological University of Singapore. Terence had served in various professional bodies such as Microsoft’s Technical Computing Executive Advisory Council, the Gerson Lehrman Group (council member), HP-CAST board (Asia/Pacific Director) and Singapore’s National Grid Advisory Council.

Tim Grance
Programmme Head of Cyber and Network Security
National Institute Of Standards And Technology (NIST), USA

Tim Grance is a senior computer scientist in the Information Technology Laboratory at the National Institute of Standards and Technology. He leads a team of researchers in the Systems and Network Security Group and is engaged in a broad research program focused on such topics as cloud computing, access control, identity management, vulnerability analysis, privacy protections, security metrics, protocol security, smart cards, and wireless/mobile device security. He was named in 2003 to the Fed 100 by Federal Computer Week as one of the most influential people in Information Technology for the US Government.

Sung-Joo Son
Deputy Director of Information Resource Policy Division

Sung-Joo Sun has been the deputy director of NCIA (National Computing & Information Agency - Korean Governmental IDC) since 2008 and is responsible for cloud computing and policy strategy. Previously Sung-Joo Son has been responsible for hardware consolidation and virtualization strategy as well as utility & cloud computing strategy.

John Galligan

John Galligan is the Regional Director for Internet Policy for Microsoft. His role is to support markets across Asia-Pacific to promote Microsoft’s internet policy agenda – including privacy, security, cloud computing and the online ecosystem. Prior to this role, John was Director for Corporate Affairs & Citizenship for Microsoft Australia where he had responsibility for government and industry engagement, community affairs and the Company’s corporate citizenship strategy. Before joining Microsoft in 2006, John held senior roles in corporate affairs in Australia and New Zealand companies as well as occupying advisory positions in Australian federal politics. John holds degrees in Business Communication from the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) and in Political Science from Australian National University (ANU)

Par Botes

Par Botes is CTO for EMC Corporation in Asia Pacific & Japan. He is involved in the evolution and advancement of EMC's information infrastructure platforms, software and services, including storage, backup and recovery, archiving, virtualized data centers and private clouds. In addition, Par is responsible for the overall strategy and development of the company's recently announced partnership with Cisco and VMware on the formation of the VCE Coalition, which is engaged with organizations in Asia Pacific & Japan seeking to benefit from virtualization and private cloud computing. He also works directly with EMC's customers and leading technologists to develop future IT product direction. Par joined EMC in 2007, with over 17 years of IT experience specializing in online transactional systems, very large data bases, networking, storage technologies and data protection.

With more than 10 years experience in the security industry, Jeffery Kok is currently Strategic Solutions Consultant in RSA, The Security Division Of EMC, based in Singapore. Jeffery holds a CISSP certification and specializes in Cryptographic Solutions, Network security, Ethical Hacking and Network Infrastructure Security Assessment. Prior to joining RSA he served as Senior Technology Consultant in Cisco System’s Worldwide Security Practice. He also worked with major security vendors like SafeNet and Eracom Technology previously.
