Jialin Liu

Director, Centre of Medical Informatics of West China Hospital

Jialin Liu MD is the Director, Centre of Medical Informatics of West China Hospital and Associate Professor, Department of Medical Informatics, West China Medical School of Sichuan University. He is also an Associate Professor at West China Hospital’s Department of Otorhinolaryngology.

He is currently a visiting scholar at Harvard School of Medicine and Brigham Hospital, on a 12 month assignment commissioned by the Chinese Government to observe the most advanced theories and practices of medical information systems in the world. From there he sends regular thoughts and comments to the readers of FutureGov.

An accredited expert from the National Natural Science Foundation of China and Sichuan Provincial Office of Science and Technology, Dr Liu established the country’s first PhD & Master Degree Programmes in medical informatics at West China Medical School of Sichuan University.

Dr Liu was the chief editor of three medical books, as well as a textbook on medical informatics. He has published more than 40 papers as the first author, and holds 7 Patents in China.
